It is always wise to protect the PLC on a machine especially if the factory is located in an area that experiences power outages and load shedding.
Installing a UPS on the PLC will protect it from outages and surges ensuring that the PLC does not get damaged at these times as costs of repairing these issues can become quite expensive and sometimes you may even need to replace the system.
The UPS module is used to power systems that cannot be connected directly to the +24 VDC power system network for safety reasons (loss of data due to power failure). The UPS module enables the load system (e.g. industrial PC) to be safely switched off without loss of data in the event of a power failure.
